Aims

As the Department of Foreign Languages Education, our primary aim is to ensure that English teacher candidates grasp the dignity of the profession they will practice. Our sole aim is to make every effort to instill in our teacher candidates the point emphasized by our Head Teacher when addressing the members of the Teachers' Union Congress on August 25, 1924, and to embed in the core of their professional lives the fact that the Republic expects from them "generations with liberated minds, liberated consciences, and liberated knowledge."

Our mission

To train English language teachers who are conscious of the importance of the concept of interdisciplinarity; who are equipped with the knowledge required by the era; who successfully integrated their area of expertise with the teaching profession knowledge; who can think critically; who are able to produce alternatives by working independently and/or collaboratively with a solution-oriented approach to problems; who have researcher identitites; who internalized lifelong learning skills; and who are able to maintain their commitment to universal values.

With its versatile and rich academic staff; to be a department with a high national and international recognition, which successfully plans and conducts academic studies required by the era with its stakeholders, and contributes to society and the field with its outputs.
