This master’s programme aims at training researchers who are able to interpret and criticize translations, translators and the processes regarding translation scientifically and who are able to follow the current developments in Turkey and in the world and who have a command of information technologies and research methods.
1. Equipping students with the theoretical knowledge enabling them to discuss translation from the historical, linguistic, functional and cognitive aspects.
2. Teaching students scientific research methods; doing and promoting interdisciplinary research and studies so that students can gain an extensive and multidimensional perspective on translation.
3. Reviewing the translation standards and practices in Turkey and in the world so that students can make a connection between theory and practice.
4. Making students specialized as a result of their theses and providing them with a researcher identity.
