Course Objective

Shia, which carries the issue of imâmet, which is a political issue, to the field of belief principles and built a different theory of imâmet compared to other Islamic departments, has embodied a political-itical purpose and has an important place in the formation of Islamic thought. Shi'a is the most popular sect in the Islamic world after the Ahl al-Sunnah. In addition, approximately 90% of Iran and 75% of Azerbaijan belong to the Shi'i Imamiyya sect. For this reason, the historical development of Shia and the determination of the current situation is the main objective of the course.
