Course Objective

It is aimed to teach basic theoretical knowledge and practical applications to interns in the field of mental health and diseases, 

Course Content

Taking a history from the patient and relatives, conducting a psychiatric examination file preparation and to gain patient monitoring knowledge and skills.

Having  basic knowledge about the etiology, neurobiology, clinical features, diagnosis and treatment of mental illnesses.

Recognizing common mental illnesses, learning preventive and basic treatment approaches.

Learning the basic psychopharmacological treatment approaches.

Learning the biopsychosocial approach to general medical diseases. Learning the psychiatric aspects of medical diseases, the medical aspects of psychiatric diseases and symptoms. Learning the approach to emergency psychiatric diseases and basic pharmacological and psychotherapeutic interventions.

Gaining the necessary skills to provide a short and comprehensible explanation about the disease and its treatment to each patient and to protect the confidentiality of patient information.
Gaining empathic and effective communication skills with patients and their relatives.
