Course Objective

This course has two main objectives. First of all, it is aimed to enable students to deepen their knowledge of scientific research process and methods and to develop their skills in evaluating scientific research. Secondly, it is aimed that the students examine the theoretical information, researches and applications in the field in accordance with scientific research and writing rules and present a research proposal made in the field by reporting.

Course Content

Basic concepts of scientific research (research problem, variables and hypotheses, literature review, definitions, limitations, ethical principles), quantitative, qualitative and mixed research designs, validity and reliability in scientific research. Examining and discussing the basic literature and problems in the field of science education. Reporting and presenting a research proposal specific to a selected problem in the field of science education.
