Types, importance and properties of non-ferrous metals, introducing the production processes of copper, aluminum, zinc, lead, nickel, titanium, cobalt, chromium and ferro-metals, which are important metals for our country.

1 Definition of non-ferrous metal, raw material sources of non-ferrous metals, basic information about raw material preparation, reserves in Turkey and in the world, their economic potentials
2 Copper minerals, copper properties and applications, metallurgical pretreatments of copper ore,
3 hydrometallurgical copper production (copper leaching, solvent extraction of copper, electrowinning of copper).
4 Pyrometallurgical copper production (smelting, conversion, refining, flash melting, continuous melting)
5 Aluminum minerals, aluminum properties and applications
6 Alumina production methods, acidic electrothermal, basic and sinter methods
7 Aluminum production from alumina, Hall-Heroult process. Aluminum refining.
8 Zinc minerals, properties and applications of zinc, extraction and refining of zinc
9 Midterm examination
10 Lead ores and their properties. Pyrometallurgical lead production. Pyro and electro refining of lead
11 Nickel minerals, properties and applications of nickel, nickel extraction (HPAL, AL, Sherritt process, solvent extraction, electrolysis, etc.), metallic nickel production and refining
