| Course Objective | The ELT 106 Reading Skills II course basically focuses on the process of reading in the academic field, by enhancing students’ awareness of the basic concepts, developing the skills of reading the components of the reading process, developing reading skills written in different genres of literature, to reach an advanced level. Basically, this course enables the prospective teachers to learn academic vocabulary by reading academic texts from books, magazines, journals, and textbooks covering various subjects in different disciplines. Through group work in the course, students exchange ideas with other students in the class, research in various topics, and eventually develop original ideas. At the end of this process, they become good and independent readers who can use their knowledge on an academic level to comprehend academic texts.
