Course Objective

This course aims to critically address issues in the context of gender equality. Within the framework of the course, gender identity and socialization, social status of women in terms of different historical/sociological/philosophical/psychological perspectives and education/politics/working life etc. The problems faced by women in critical areas will be examined.

Sex and Gender, Gender Equality and the Concept of Equity; Psychosocial dimension of gender and historical development of gender roles; Gender Theories; Factors Affecting Gender; Effect of Gender on Health; Gender and Written/Visual Media; Gender and Use of Family Planning; Gender and Violence; Gender and Family Relations, Roles; Gender and Education; Gender and Political Participation; Gender and Economics ; What has been done and what should be done to raise awareness of gender equality.
