Course Objective

90% of Turkey is located along a seismically active earthquake belt. Disasters such as earthquakes, floods and landslides have caused numerous deaths and significant economic losses over the centuries thus negatively affecting the sustainable development of our country. Continued increases in population and the growth of megacities will make the situation even worse. In order to reduce disaster risk, implementing disaster prevention measures, providing disaster and disaster management education to people and especially  educating public officers, goverment workers and people in management positions is an important task that needs to be done effectively and immediately.
