Course Category
Course Objective To examine the nature of the process of mental development of mathematics and mathematical knowledge.
Course Content The building blocks of mathematics (axioms, theorems, definitions, etc.), the nature of mathematical knowledge, conceptual, procedural, relational, and so on. types of information will be promoted. Theories explaining the formation of mathematical knowledge will be examined in the mind. In this context, the formation of mathematical concepts in the human mind, geometric, arithmetic and algebraic processes, and these processes of development of resources to face the challenges and to develop students´ misconceptions will be discussed.
