Course Objective The aim of this course is to acquire the knowledge and ability to form a matter of art or design with the general knowledge of glass as a material.
Course Content The definition and the characteristics of glass, also theoretical knowledge about the slumping and sagging techniques are given, and they are supported by visual documents, after completing sufficient experimental studies, a complete project is being asked to realize from the scratch to the final product.

1 Respectively, the main topics of the course and the examination dates are given to every student on a sheet of paper and explanations are given, the necessary equipments for the course are introduced and first theoretical class is given by explaining the
2 Glass slumping and sagging methods are given theoretically, also some practical studies on simple sagging and slumping techniques are being realized
3 Mold preparation, molding materials, variations of slumping and sagging are given theoretically, also some practical studies are being realized
4 A written exam to evaluate all practical studies
5 Experimental studies on slumping and sagging through the mold are realized
6 Experimental studies on slumping and sagging inside a mold are realized
7 Experimental studies on slumping and sagging outside a mold are realized
8 Experimental studies on slumping and sagging by hanging the glass are realized
9 Midterm exam; A written exam depending on the theoretical knowledge and applicational studies, also the homework subject and the final exam project are given
