Course Objective

The aim of the course is to educate health labor force who are knowledgeable and conscious in the subjects such as employees health and its dimensions, the characteristics and importance of the employees health, employee?s health and work safety practices in workplaces, the policies towards the risk groups, the employees health from the viewpoint of the workplace nurse, work safety laws and regulations, physiological stresses in the workplace and ergonomics, employee nutrition, a general view to the occupational diseases, work hygiene and chemical factors, the physical factors in the workplace, a general view to the workplace accidents, the first aid organization in the workplace and first aid education; and making the students adopt the role and tasks of the workplace nurse

Course Content

The course comprises the subjects of the protection of the employee health, and the roles and tasks of the public health nurse regarding the working safety. Within this framework, the subjects of the definitions of work and employee, the health risks the employees are exposed to, working accidents and diseases and the protection from them are dealt with.
