Course Objective Recognize technologies and basic structure of the modulation systems that are used to transfer analog and digital data in long distance, explain modulation techniques and modem types, describe the need of communication protocols and recognize primary ones, understand how to use serial or parallel port facilities on the PC, comprehend transducer, sensor, and actuator concepts, get knowledge on smart card and barcode applications and their field of use, understand concepts related to computer based data acquisition and SCADA, do some practical programming for SCADA systems and motors
