Dersin Amacı | Solid-state welding processes give some important advantages according to fusion welding processes. The principal advantages of solid-state welding processes are ability a joint without melting, absence of melt-related solidification defects, low stress and distortion. Also no additional process such as cleaning, machining generally required in solid-state welding processes. In addition, these processes provide superiority in joining of light metals with poor weldability. Significance of solid-state welding process has enhanced in industries such as aerospace, automotive, transportation, electric-electronic, for low weight/strength and energy saving. Thus, it is believed that require to be taught the relatively new processes such as friction stir welding. |
Dersin İçeriği | Introduction to solid-state welding processes, importance of their, applicable materials, Comparison between solid-state welding processes and fusion welding processes, advantages and disadvantages, Explosion welding, Diffusion welding, Ultrasonic welding, Friction welding, Friction stir welding (FSW) and Friction stir spot welding (FSSW), Mechanical and microstructural properties of friction stir welded materials, Weld defects in solid-state welding processes. |
