Course Content In this lesson the contents are general characteristics of tezkires that is first reference books of Classical Turkish literature; main tezkires from the first tezkire samples to the last tezkire sample and their various aspects; also utilization ways from tezkires.

Week Course Topics Preliminary Preparation
1 Beginning of tradition of şuara tezkire, characteristics of tezkires. Sources must be scanned and related parts of them must be read.
2 First Turkish şuara tezkire: Ali Şir Nevai’s Mecalisu’n-Nefais. Sources must be scanned and related parts of them must be read.
3 First Turkish şuara tezkire in Ottoman: Sehi Bey’s Heşt Behişt. Sources must be scanned and related parts of them must be read.
4 Şuara tezkires of 16th century: Latifi Tezkiresi, Aşık Çelebi Tezkiresi. Sources must be scanned and related parts of them must be read.
5 Hasan Çelebi Tezkiresi, tezkire in Künhü’l-Ahbar of Gelibolulu Ali. Sources must be scanned and related parts of them must be read.
6 Suara tezkires of 17th century: Riyazi Tezkiresi, Kafzade Faizi Tezkiresi. Sources must be scanned and related parts of them must be read.
