Dersin Amacı | Sisimograms are signatures of seismic waves created by earthquakes and other reasons. Seismic waves involves valuable information on inner structure of earth and source parameters of earthquake. For the interpretaton of earthquake seismograms, we must know seismic phases traveling in earth. Aim of this course is to teach the necessary information and techniques to analyse the earthquake records and help their graduate thesis studies. |
Dersin İçeriği | Seismic instruments; recording systems, analog and digital recorders; types and basic properties of the seismic waves; concepts of near-field and far-field earthquakes; examination of local , regional and telesismic events and their interpratation; examination of volcanic earthquakes; examination of nuclear explosion and quarry blast events. |
