Course Objective | Nitrogen and sulphur play an important role in Organic Chemistry. They are found in natural products, synthetic drugs and industrial materials. To know the chemical properties of organo nitrogen and sulphur pave the way for better understanding organic chemistry. |
Course Content | Introduction to organonitrogen chemistry, amines, ammonium compounds, nitrogen bases, synthesis of amines, imines, enamines, amides, nitriles, urathanes, ureas, imides, diimides, compouns with N-N bonds, oximes, N-Oxides, nitroso compounds, nitro compounds, synhesis of organosulfur compaunds, thiocarbonyl compounds, sufoxides and sulfones, uses of organosulfur compounds |
