Course Objective Aid to understand how mechanisms of enzymes which catalyze the biochemical reactions are important in living organisms and inform about how important enzymes in biochemistry, medicine, drug, agriculture, food and biotechnology.
Course Content Properties of enzymes, kinetics and chemical mechanisms of enzyme catalyzed reactions, identification of active centers in enzymes, chemical structure of enzyme catalysis, group transfer reactions catalyzed by enzymes, enzymatic oxidation and reduction reactions, elimination reactions catalyzed by enzymes, enzyme inhibitions, applications of enzymes.
