Course Objective Introduction of compilation research and classification studies on Anatolian and Rumeli dialects. To teach characteristic grammatical rules of various Turk dialects via their texts were received from printed scientific research.
Course Content Dialect term, studies on Anatolian and Rumelian Dialects whose subjects are compilation, research and classification. Dialectal transcription marks. Special rules of Erzurum, Kars, Diyarbakır, Doğu Karadeniz, Nevşehir, Batı Karadeniz, Batı Anadolu, Doğu Rumeli and Batı Rumeli dialectal areas.

Week Course Topics Preliminary Preparation
1 Description of ialectterm. İt connection on similar terms (language, dialect, accent etc.) and location among of them. Necessarity of dialectal studies. Relation between dialect and literary language.
2 Primary studies on Anatolian Dialects: Foreign researchers period (1867-1940), Ahmet Caferoğlu period (1940-1950). Actual compilations and researchs after Caferoğlu period.
3 The works on Anatolian dialect grammatical elements (participles, gerundiums etc.) Vocabulary of Anatolian dialect. The studies involved in classification of Anatolian dialect.
4 Method on dialectal research: Preparation works before area search. Critical points of area search. Method on dialectal research: Transcription. Commentation of transcription marks.
5 External studies on Rumelian dialects (compilation, research). Internal studies on Rumelian dialects (compilation, research)
