Course Content | Historical development of internal combustion engines, theri advantages and disadvantages. Constant volume, constant pressure, dual cycle and supercharged engine cycles, theorical intake and exhaust process, state properties, comparison of internal combustion engine cycles according to different criteria. Differences between real and theorical cycles, cycles of otto and diesel engines, P-V and valve adjustment diagrams of real cycles Preparation of combustible mixture in internal combustion engine, combustion, explanation of combustion phases on pressure – crank angle diagram Torque, power, specific fuel consumption, mean pressure, volumetric and thermal efficiency, and parameters which affect them Air pollution, important pollutants, internal combustion engine sourced pollutants, their legal limits and way of reduction |
