Introduction to discrete-time systems, Signal conversions, A/D and D/A converters, Sampling and holding functions and their mathematical models, Z-transformation techniques and their features, Modified Z-transformation and solutions of difference equations, Discrete-time, open and closed loop transfer functions.2. Transient and steady-state responses of discrete systems, Stability methods in Z-domain.3. Relation between Z and S domain and obtaining root-locus graph in Z-domain.4. Discrete-time controllers P, PI and PID, Design of discrete-time controllers using root-locus techniques1.
