Course Objective It’s important for to realize effective science education that every instructors, especially aimed to be master in the field, should know teaching and learning methods, paradigms, strategies and related research in this field. This course aimed to let students to learn theoretical foundations about instructional methods and basic skills to apply them
Course Content Milestones in science education (SE). Science education reform. Contemporary SE approaches: constructivist learning. Constructivist teaching/learning models: situated learning, problem based learning, case based learning, project based learning, anchored learning, conceptual change, active learning, 5es and 7es models. Alternative measurement and evaluation methods. Students’ projects: micro teaching. Self, peer and co-assessment of students’ projects. Discussion and general evaluation.
