Course Objective Providing the learning of thin film and vapour phase techniques and introducing the micro and nano scaled surface coating technologies.
Course Content Introducing the thin film techniques, providing some information about vacuum technologies, introducing the coating equipment and systems. Teaching Chemical Vapour deposition and all its groups (CVD, PA-CVD, Laser-CVD, and CVI). Teaching deposition theories and coating parameters. Introducing PVD techniques, Vaporization techniques, Sputtering techniques. Introducing arc PVD techniques, Choosing critters of coating parameters. Choosing critters of coating materials. Performance tests of coatings, Determining the cost and price of coating process. Chosing a coating technique and material. Giving some information about on industrial application of coatings. Comparing mono and multilayer coatings.
