Week Course Topics Preliminary Preparation
1 Introduction to sheet metal forming dies and diesinking
2 To draw flattened sheet metal obtaining from designed and folded sheet metal parts
3 To design cutting and bending dies
4 To assembly, solid model and core of mechanical parts into the die block
5 Subtracting model and cores from die block using cavity command and obtaining die cavity
6 To design sand moulds, permanent dies, metal and plastic injection molds and theirs gates and risers
7 A park bench design for metal sector; drawing welded and bolted connections, obtaining real flat dimension sheet metal as unfolding bended sheet metal parts
8 Model and die design of a mobile phone case for plastic injection molding
9 A cupboard design for kitchen for furniture industry
10 Mold, riser and gates design of ppermanent mold casting for foundry applications
11 Free part, assembly or mechanism design and animation for each student
12 Defining a tool paths and cutting speeds for designed parts and dies (CAM)
13 Converting NC codes after defining cutting parameters for milling
14 To transfer these NC codes from computer to vertical machining center

1 Students gain an advanced and contemporary knowledge and practical skill after general or vocational high school qualification. To obtain an ability to support his/her knowledge and practical skill with technical sources and equipments and to use basic and principle technical terminology of metal technologies. 3 Students know manufacturing processes in metal technologies sectors and can offer improvements when needed. He/she has knowledge of quality control processes and has practical skill to use quality control in metal manufacturing processes. X
4 To gain theoretical and practical skills in joining of metallic materials, implementing quality control in welded structures and to give training on these subjects. X
5 To obtain an adequate theoretical knowledge and practical skills on oxy-gas, electric arc welding and brazing techniques and to use these techniques in teaching and training in vocational schools. Tracing any faults of welding machines and providing for necessary maintenance and repairing. X
6 Students have an adequate knowledge to offer solution for problems arising during welding of ferrous or non-ferrous materials and also provide suitable methods for welding. X
7 Students gain skills for technical communication and team work with his/her colloquies and superior on subjects related to his/her teachings such as design and practice.
