Course Objective Getting the skills of planning, design and selection of construction materials or highway transportation
Course Content To learn the terminology of roadway and traffic,the characteristics of drivers and pedestrians,vehicle characteristics, sight distances, following distances,the traffic changes, basic relationship of traffic flow, Geometric design standards, design speed, Design traffic, Annual average daily traffic, Capacity and level of service and affecting factors, the traffic flow rate and correction factors, the selection of traffic flow rate and level of service, calculation of highway components of geometric design standarts, selection of materials for base and sub-base, the methods of mixing aggreagtes and bitumınuous materials
