Course Objective | Social Work Practice I is aimed that trains students for direct practice with individuals, families and groups. The course facilitates transforming of professional knowledge to practice implementation. The course also examines social work theory and methods for direct practice. These theories are analyzed with respect to advocating social justice, human dignity, capacity building and individual empowerment. |
Course Content | Social work as a problem solving process. Process of social work intervention. Stages of the process of social work practice. Identification of the problem, data collection and syntheses, assessment, planning, intervention (direct practice actions, indirect practice actions) termination and evaluation at micro (individuals)and mezzo (groups)levels. |
