Course Content

This course is designed to introduce major theories, issues and debates of cultural studies. It presents basic theories and methods such as semiology, ethnography, cultural history, critical theory and psychoanalysis and goes through fundamental debates and issues such as speech vs. writing; hegemony vs. resistance; cultural reproduction and cultural change, gender, race, class and subcultures
