Course Objective

The course aims to examine and analyze the aesthetic, economic and political characteristics of Turkish cinema in the axes of cultural theories.

Course Content

The course contains  (1.1) cinema experience (1.2). national identity-national cinema discussions in the context of (1) modernization and modernism;  (2.1) the relation of third world cinema and (2.2). thirld cinema with Turkish cinema in the contexte of (2)  postcolonial theory; (3) the links between globalization,  postmodernism, digital culture and (3.1) transnational cinema; (3.2) Turkish cinema's aesthetic and ideological transformation in these contextes
