Course Objective

To develop knowledge and skills regarding the types, branches, and sub-branches of linguistics, and relationship between different languages.

Course Content

World languages, the birth and development of languages, kinship between languages; the place of Turkish among world languages, similarities and differences between Turkish and other languages; comparison of Turkish with foreign language structures such as those of English, German, French and so on in terms of morphology, syntax and time; structuralism, phonological, morphological and syntactic comparison methods; Comparison of Turkish with different languages in terms of sound, form and syntactic features.
