Course Objective In this lesson, teacher candidates will have enough knowledge to decide on well-qualified literary texts for Turkish language teaching course. Choosing texts suitable for the age of target group and preparing exercises especially using modern literature education models are the objectives of this course. Shortly the course aims to equip students with the abilities to develop creative and productive tasks on sample texts chosen from creative works of children?s literature.
Course Content Using literary texts especially written for children as Turkish language teaching materials will motivate the students. This course will provide opportunity to practice the knowledge gained in Children?s Literature course. Children?s books can be used to develop four language skills; especially in reading and writing children?s books are important materials. To demonstrate how to use children?s books in Turkish language teaching, to make students know different methods and technics to use children?s literature in Turkish language teaching.
