Course Objective | Making the participants of the course to take into account the public health in their practices and behave in accordance with this standpoint; make them know the health organization and regulations in Turkey, protective health care practices, environmental health practices, immunization practices, the public health practices regarding the non-contagious diseases, old-age health practices, mothers’ health and family planning practices and children’s health practices. |
Course Content | The course discusses the functions and basic principles of the public health professional in terms of the protection and development of the health of the family and individual, early diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation. Within this framework, the course includes the place of the midwives in the special areas such as ‘the historical development, definition and roles of the public health services’, ‘evaluation of the health’, ‘family structure and culture’, ‘environment’, ‘work’, ‘school’, health of the aged people’, ‘mother’s and child’s health’, “adolescent’s health’, “environmental health’, and ‘genetics’, the health services, health organizations and health politics. |
