Course Objective | In this course, students the structures of micro-organisms, reproduction patterns, pathogenicity and virulence factors, host-microorganism interactions, disinfection and sterilization methods, antimicrobials, mechanisms of action and resistance, are to learn. |
Course Content | This course Introduction to microbiology, history, classification of microorganisms, nomenclature, general properties of microorganisms and morphology, reproduction and media, metabolism and genetics, virulence and pathogenicity properties, microscopes, stain and staining methods, microbiology laboratory basic rules, host-microorganisms relations, normal flora, microbiological sample collection and transportation, sterilization and disinfection, antimicrobials, mechanisms of action and resistance, antibiotic susceptibility testing are included. |
