Course Objective

It is predicted that the students take this course in purpose of instructing about all subjects theoretically related to the Turkish Tile Art.

Course Content

It will be provided to telling the development, different periods and styles of the Art of Tiles applied until the 20th century as starting from the Seljuks period; at the same time to intensifying various knowledge as giving different research course works related to these periods.

1 Passing to art in the Principalities period and the Ottoman period.
2 The Turkish Tile Art during period of the Ottoman Empire in 15th century.
3 The architectural artworks which having characteristics of the Turkish Tile Art in 15th century.
4 İznik Tile Art in 16th century.
5 Iznik Tile Art and other production regions in Anatolia in 16th century.
6 Palace muralists and studies of 16th century.
7 Quiz.
8 A general overview to Turkish Tile Art in 17th century.
9 Determining course work to be given to each student as special.
10 The Kütahya tiles making from 17th century to starting of 20th century.
11 Different features of the substructure and motifs of Iznik from Kütahya tiles.
