Course Objective | Graduate students, at the end of this course, will acquire the basic concepts on the structure and functions of cell. |
Course Content | Definition of physiology, homoestasis, body control system, negative and positive feedback, neuronal and endocrine control, body fluid compartments and fluid-electrolyte balance, organization of the cell membrane, active and passive transport across the cell membrane, resting membrane potential, action potential, water channels (aquaporins), ion channels, intercellular communication and cell adhesion molecules, gene expression, post transcriptional modifications, membrane receptors, second messengers, signal transduction pathway, the ıntracellular transport will be explained. |
