Course Objective To point out Russian security strategies and foreign policies from the aspect of EU policies. To examine EU and Russian relationships.
Course Content This lecture examines Russian foreign policy, security strategy issues and EU strategies and relations. The study focuses on the nature of the Russian strategic interests and the importance of distant contingencies -such as Middle Asia and Caucasia - as compared to Russias "near abroad." It assesses the impact of the difference in strategic cultures between the Russia, the US, EU, Eurasia, Turkey, China, Middle East etc. the US and draws attention to the long-term evolution of USSR-EU-US strategic relations.
