Course Objective | In our country, many of our citizens have lost their lives or have become maimed because of the accidents occured at home or at work, traffic accidents and natural disasters. Therefore, the first aid applications supplied by the people in the case place is extremely important for themselves or other injuired ones. In our society, as a general concept, first aid and emergency phrases are used interchangeably. However, the emergency aid include medical interventions which are supplied by health workers using necessary medical equipments. On the other hand, the first aid applications are carried out without using any drug by the educated people with the present materials at case place. For this applications, it is intended to give the students the basic first aid information at least. |
Course Content | The following basic information will be given about first aid in this course : general first aid information; evaluation of the patient / injury and event place; basic life support; first aid in bleedings; first aid in injuries; first aid in burns, freezing and hot bumps; first aid in fracture, dislocation and sprain; first aid in disorders of consciousness; first aid in poisonings; first aid in escaping foreign bodies in the eye, ear and nose; first aid in drowning; the sick / injured transport techniques and so on.
