Course Objective | To enable the students to grasp the language of the classical texts of legal theory in Islam and to engage in advanced debates in legal theoretical problems |
Course Content | This course will explore the various methods of interpretation in Islamic law, read selected materials from the classical major texts, concentrating especially the concepts such as qiyas, istihsan, maslaha and relate them to the modern conditions. |
