Course Objective In this course it is aimed to explain Yahya Kemal’s poetry and his thoughts about art in order to evaluate the Turkish literature in all its parts. Moreover, it is needed to compare Yahya Kemal with contemporaneouses and to locate his his effects on the Turkish literature
Course Content To clarify, and explain Yahya Kemal’s art, the characteristics of his Works, and his place in the tradition of Turkish poetry.
To interpret characteristics of his poetry
To compare his poetry and sense of art with contemporary and previous poets
To analyse his poems
To make a general evaluation about his poetry and literary Works.
