Course Objective Aim of this course is to definition of city and urbanization, explain the relationship planning- urban infrastructure and environmental problems related to urbanization and show the way for solutions.
Course Content Introduction, Definitions (Cityplanning, city, plan-planning, urbanisation)the criteria to evaluate the cities (population, density, infrastructure, amenities), urbanisation and the movement of people, the properties of urbanisation over the world and in Turkey, contemporary approaches to the city and environmental planning, the types and hierarchy of planning (main plans development plans), the issues among urbanisation, industrialisation and the environment, the general definition of environment and the approaches in environmental planning, the importance of planning in environmental protection.
