Dersin Amacı | Increase of population and advances in industry brought along the problems originated from environmental pollution. While environmental engineers were working on control and prevention from pollution ,at the same time they began to prevent not only the working place but also the place where they live,to canalize the people when a disease has arisen. For this reason, environmental engineers must be informed correctly about health, health institutions and the duties and responsibilities of the employer. The aim of this lecture is to teach the basic health subjects, workers health, the effects of diseases originated from environmental pollution and to face the problems of these subjects from the point of view of environmental engineering. |
Dersin İçeriği | Introduction to environmental health, health concept, definition of healthy man and healthy environment, factors influencing human health, prevention and social medicine approach, public health, worker’s health, Social Security Agency, general factors influencing worker’s health, effects of working conditions on worker’s health, occupational diseases, poisoning, contagious diseases and ways of contamination, effect of pollution of air, water, radiation, solid waste, noise on health, environment engineer’s approach to the socalled problems and their responsibility, prevention in environmental health, institutions associated with environmental health in Turkey and in the world. |
