Course Objective | To address conceptual framework of “literature” in general. The origin of word of “literature”, semantic adventure of it including all meanings received in Turkish language. To emphasize the function of literature and its associations; to define literary text, literary work; to render relation between literature and other sciences. To give information on rhetorical concepts of Classical Turkish Literature such as fesâhat, meânî, beyân and bedî. To give information with practical examples about main literary arts of classical poetry within the scope of the beyân and bedî. To show that these arts are effectively used in the field of communication today. |
Course Content | To focus on meanings of word of literature in Turkish and major literary approaches to Classical literature. To give conceptual backgrounds on rhetorical concepts of Classical Turkish Literature such as belâgat, fesâhat, meânî, beyân and bedî. To emphasize how literary arts enrich the poetry. To bring beginner level reading comprehention on Classical literary texts written in prose. |
