Course Content

Generally, ‘Social Geography’ can be defined as a geographical investigation of the relationships between spatial change and social processes. Space and Place is primarily concerned with the ways in social relations, identities and inequalities are created. How these creations vary over space and the role of space in their construction is the principle distinction between sociology and social geography. Sociology emphasizes society, but geographers emphasize space: in social geography we are concerned with society and space.
