Course Objective This course tries to find out answers following questions:
1. What determines foreign exchange rates in the short and long-term?
2. What are the effects of monetary and fiscal policy in an open economy?
3. What drives a country´s choice of the foreign exchange rate regime in an open economy?
4. How do money affect inflation, employment, interest rates, and production in an open economy?
Course Content This course covers exchange rate determination and exchange rate regimes. Financial globaization and economic crises are also included in this course. All students will have an opportunity to work with real data using Eviews.
