Dersin Amacı
In this course we will give e general notion to the students about various Islamic sects and sub-sects. Description their aims, scopes, methodologies; basic concepts and sources.
Dersin İçeriği
The main religious-political Islamic sects; its aim, scope, methodology; basic concepts and sources; reasons of Islamic sects formation; the earliest political and theological diversifications in religious understanding and the process of institutionalization; the Kharijites, the Murjia, Mutazila sect and the schools of Basra and Baghdad, Shiite sects, Sunnism. The reasons which are effective in this sects emergence; its formative period; its fundamental principles; the sub-sects; the areas which they lived.

9 Two metaphors of Maqalat-Firaq Literature: Sabaiyyah and Jahmiyyah

12 Imamism, its fundamental principles; the sub-sects and men involved; the significance of Imamism movement and its contrubitions to the Islamic Thought.
13 al-Ahbariyyah an al-Usuliyyah in the Shiite,
