Dersin Amacı

This course aims to equip the English language pre-service teachers with the abilities of analyzing the relationship between semantics and discourse, understanding the role of individual differences in the classroom setting, and comprehending and implementing effective teaching methods in vocabulary teaching.

Dersin İçeriği

This course focuses on analyzing the relationships between English vocabulary, semantics and discourse, and developing skills to teach English words through an integrated language skills approach. The pre-service teachers are given the opportunity to evaluate the types of English words, word formation and different meanings of words in context. Elements of vocabulary teaching in the classroom and various types of text that can be used in the classroom, sources such as dictionary and corpus, and vocabulary teaching techniques are covered. This course also focuses on exams that can be used to measure English vocabulary and learning/teaching strategies that support students' vocabulary learning.

1 Explains the necessary theoretical, methodological and factual knowledge about foreign language (English) education and teaching profession and uses them to produce solution(s) to educational problems. X
