| Dersin Amacı | This course is designed to focus on analysing the structure and the communicative features of English language in comparison with those of Turkish language; defining and practicing the basic concepts and techniques of translation and practising them through various sample texts. The course also aims at enabling the students to transfer the skills they master during the course to the future ELT environment. This course further aims at providing the students with a general concept and nature of language(s), with the ability to solve problems they may encounter in their future careers and to create and freely express their own opinions. |
| Dersin İçeriği | Despite the structural differences between English and Turkish, two totally different languages, by studying how the same meaning should be conveyed, how cultural elements affect the language, how vocabulary differentiates and how meaning is related to context, students will try to create equivalent texts in each language. |
