Dersin Amacı The aim of the course is to provide the students experiment design and evaluation skills by conducting experiments and simulation studies on power electronics circuits and electrical machines.
Dersin İçeriği This course is divided into two parts. In the first part of the course, students conduct experiments and simulation studies on power electronics circuits, including single phase rectifiers, three phase rectifiers, buck converters, boost converters, forward DC-DC converters and flyback DC-DC converters. In the second part of the course, students conduct experiments on single phase transformers, three phase transformers, induction machines, synchronous machines and DC machines.

10 Experiments on three phase transformers, measurement transformers and auto-transformers. Students should prepare a pre-report, as a preparation for the related experiments to be conducted, before coming the laboratory activity.
11 Experiments on induction motors: starting, speed adjustment, braking, no-load test, blocked rotor test, obtaining equivalent circuit parameters, slip-torque characteristics. 12 Experiments on DC Generators (Dynamos): Self excitation of shunt dynamo, no-load curve of separately excited dynamo, output characteristic of shunt dynamo Students should prepare a pre-report, as a preparation for the related experiments to be conducted, before coming the laboratory activity.
13 Experiments on DC Motors: Starting, speed adjustment, output characteristics of DC Shunt and serial excited motors Students should prepare a pre-report, as a preparation for the related experiments to be conducted, before coming the laboratory activity.
14 Experiments on Synchronous Generators: No-load curve. Compounding curves and V-I characteristics for ohmic, full inductive and full capacitive loading. Synchronization and parallel operation on the grid. Active and reactive power generation.
