The content of the geomagnetism course and its importance in  geophysical engineering; Basic concepts on magnetic field and magnetization: Magnetic pole, magnetic force line, intensity of magnetization, magnetic susceptibility, magnetic permeability; The source of the earth's magnetic field, determination of internal  and external sources of magnetic field;  The components of geomagnetic field and the realations existing between these components; Variation of earth's  magnetic field in time and space; Instruments used in measuring geomagnetism: Theodolite, QHM, BMZ, proton magnetometer, flux-gate magnetometer and variometers; Types of  the magnetisms: diamagnetism, paramagnetism, ferro-antiferro and ferrimagnetism; Magnetic  properties of the oxide minerals; Types of the remanent magnetism and their importance in  geophysical engineering; Evidence of reversing of geomagnetic field
