To present mathnawi which is a poetry forms at the same time, as a type o poem; to inform about the place and situaiton of mathnawi in Classical Turkish literature from sample texts.

Definition, short history of mathnawi; mathnawi varieties according to subjects (religious-mystical, love and valour subjects); informations about "Mevlânâ" and "Mevleviyye"; selected texts from "Mesnevî-i Şerîf" of Mevlana (Rumi); subjects, themes, mazmuns (imageries) and characters of "Yusuf ile Züleyha", "Hüsn ü Aşk" and "Leyla vü Mecnun", "Hayriyye" and "Lutfiyye" mathnawis.
