Dersin Amacı

Disabled people and geriatrics in all over the world represent a considerable amount of the population. In Turkey, the population of the physical disabled people is more than the other European countries. Reasons such as insufficient medical services, the lack of precautions in job security, work accidents, traffic accidents, terror, and marriages with close relatives affect this fact considerably.

In recent years, according to the advances in social, economic, and technological areas, physical disabled people want to be mobilized, participate the daily activities, be productive, involve in business, and increase their share in national gross income. The law for disables that has been issued recently is a good remark to show that.Demands for participating to production turn out to be possible by using supporting equipments (wheelchair, prosthesis, orthosis, elevators, etc.), and taking necessary steps in architectural and environmental arrangements. Medical industry that produces the disable supporting equipments is a high profit sector because of reasons such as personal manufacturing, providing high security, using special design and materials.
